Getting youths to start the new year right and make a difference by being part of nEbO’s W.I.S.H.!
For youths who made a New Year resolution to volunteer in 2014, nEbO, the NTUC community for youths aged 12 to 25, made it easy for them to get started and find an opportunity that fitted their interest and schedule. For the entire month of January, youths were invited to join the W.I.S.H. campaign to give back and make a difference through community service. nEbO’s W.I.S.H., which stands for Ways In Sharing Happiness, aimed to encourage young people to band together to make a bigger impact in sharing happiness and to better the lives of others. This year, W.I.S.H. involved 400 youth volunteers, up from just 160 in 2013, who contributed their time and energy to bring smiles and brighten up the lives of 385 beneficiaries.

Shan You Counselling Centre received a donation of $300,000 from NTUC Club and nEbO today at a pre-Chinese New Year celebratory dinner. The funds were raised through nEbO’s L.O.V.E. movement, which aims to encourage youths and the public to spare a thought and care for the less fortunate. L.O.V.E. is one of nEbO’s Life-Ready initiatives under its Care community which hopes to instil a sense of social responsibility among youths, spark their passion for volunteerism and encourage youth leaders to step up to inspire their peers.
