Sharing the good side of life
COVID-19 has affected us in many ways, changes were made, jobs were lost and our frontline workers risking themselves to keep the nation running. These are very dark times, however, sometimes, it takes just a little spark of light to brighten up the day.
So, how can we do that? With Kindness.
Sometimes, all it takes is a simple act of sharing an umbrella or giving up your seat to bringing a smile on someone’s face.
November 14th is World Kindness Day where we celebrate every act of kindness and encourage people to be kind.
In this article, you will find out some common kindness practices, or the good side of life.
Firstly, when it is raining or you see someone starving, don’t be afraid to approach them. Share with them your umbrella or buy a small meal for them.
This will definity brighten up the person’s day and you may even have put some hope into his life. You never know when your random act of kindness could mean something big for that person.
Another Act of Kindness you can do is simply, offering up your seat to someone in need. It does not have to be in an MRT or a bus, you can even do it at coffeeshops. The smile of these people faces, will give you a sense of satisfaction and bring both of you joy!
Helping an old lady cross the road or helping them out with carrying their groceries are also acts of kindness. Just Imagine if that person was your own grandparent, you would want someone to help them. So similarly, their grandkids will want someone to help their grandparents too.
Spending physical time and actions is not the only way to show kindness. Simply by donating some money, or just a single coin is an act of kindness.
Don’t be afraid of the amount that you give, whether small or big, your contribution may have helped someone.
Kindness can come in many forms, and it doesn’t always have to be towards other people. You can be kind to animals too.
There is only one person that can stop you from being kind, that person is YOURSELF!
Remember, what comes around goes around, you never know when your random act of kindness, can help you later in life.
As the famous Novelist, Mark Twain, once said: “Kindness is the language which the deaf can hear and the blind can see”.
What are some other acts of kindness?
